About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

What you will do as a Customer Engineer

The Customer Engineer (CE) is the core driver of our technical go-to-market strategy: a trusted technical advisor and primary architect of the customer journey. You will bridge the gap between technical strategy and business value—guiding enterprise clients from initial pre-sales technical validation through onboarding, deployment architecture, and full lifecycle expansion. Sitting within the GTM organization and reporting to a Customer Engineering Leader, you will not hand off your customers once an initial agreement is reached. Instead, you will operate as a quota-carrying technologist, leveraging AI-augmented workflows to eliminate administrative toil so you can focus on high-value architectural design and driving measurable business outcomes across the entire customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Validation: Partner closely with Account Executives to lead technical deep-dive discovery, capture business requirements, and map complex customer infrastructure - DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, Network Security, Workers - to fit-for-purpose Cloudflare architectures and bespoke solutions. . Define, scope, success criteria, and technical evaluations plans for Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Technical Validations. Deliver tailored technical presentations, architectural diagrams, and demonstrations that show how Cloudflare solves specific performance, security, and reliability challenges. Proactively address complex technical objections, security compliance questions, and edge-case architectural requirements during the sales cycle. Take accountability for a suitable solution deployment strategy (Customer, Partner or Cloudflare Professional services) being an integral part of all proposals.
  • Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Provide oversight to technical onboarding and implementation, but not execute the implementation, serving as the primary executive and engineering contact for the customer. Design structured migration and onboarding blueprints tailored to the customer’s environment (e.g. DNS migrations, Zero Trust rollouts, WAF tuning guidance), and act as the lead consultant for customer engineering teams, walking them step-by-step through configuration best practices.  Partner with Account Executives to own discovery, demos, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion strategy. Proactively monitor customer health scores and telemetry to ensure rapid time-to-value, resolve integration bottlenecks, and reduce deployment risk.
  • Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a variable quota tied directly to new business acquisition and/or ongoing account growth. Be commercially accountable for ensuring deep platform adoption, retaining revenue, and identifying strategic cross-sell and up-sell opportunities based on product usage data. Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to translate platform capabilities into return on investment for C-level executives.
  • Trusted Advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire customer lifecycle, maintaining a continuous, deep relationship with key stakeholders from initial onboarding through maturity, renewal, and expansion. Provide thought partnership on architecture, AI control layers, security posture, and deployment confidence. Identify potential deployment risks or integration bottlenecks early, and provide remediation strategies to de-risk customer outcomes.
  • AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Leverage AI agents, Large Language Models (LLMs), and internal platforms to automate routine tasks such as RFP/Security Questionnaire responses, sandbox provisioning, basic telemetry monitoring, and internal/external documentation, reclaiming your time for strategic customer advisory.
  • Education & Enablement: Partner closely with the Enablement Team to design, build, and govern technical resources. Define, document, and educate both internal teams and customers on deliverables such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), architectural best practices, and technical guides to continuously raise the technical baseline across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Professional Services,  Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or as a Forward Deployed Engineer (years of experience required will vary based on Associate, Senior, Staff, or Principal leveling).
  • Architectural Mindset: Ability to white-board, design, and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures clearly.
  • Consultative & Advisory Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate deeply technical concepts into business outcomes for both hands-on engineers and C-level executives.
  • Commercial Mindset: Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment, with a strong understanding of SaaS metrics, business value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills, capable of bridging the gap between deep technical implementation details and high-level C-suite business strategy.
  • Technical Breadth: We do not expect every candidate to be an expert in every domain. Qualified candidates will demonstrate depth in at least four of the technical areas below:
    • Internet fundamentals: Deep understanding of how the Internet works, including OSI Model layers 1–7, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS (authoritative and recursive), HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
    • Security: Expertise in the security of Internet properties, including WAF, Bot Management, Firewalls, Rate Limiting, (M)TLS, Zero Trust, and SASE concepts.
    • Performance: Expertise in the performance of Internet properties, including speed, latency, caching, video streaming, HTTP/2, and TLS 1.3.
    • AI Proficiency: Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI-assisted scripting and log analysis, LLM utilization, and workflow automation to augment everyday CE workflows.
    • Coding/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go, or similar languages to write custom integration scripts, API connectors, and edge computing functions.
    • Developer Platform Fluency: Experience designing, building, deploying or scaling applications using RESTful/GraphQL APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and developer tooling in cloud-native environments. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi), CI/CD pipelines, and observability for developer-led deployments.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications (The “Good-to-Haves”)

  • Technical Enablement: Track record of creating and delivering technical enablement - workshops, code samples, documentation, or developer onboarding - that accelerates customer adoption of complex platforms.
  • Applied AI Knowledge: Experience with LLM orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and model-access controls.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
  • Hyperscaler / Digital Native Background: Talent coming out of hyperscalers, digital natives, distributed systems environments, or startups is strongly valued for its deeper cloud fluency and advanced architecture depth.

Available Locations

  • San Francisco, US

About the Role

Cloudflare’s Senior Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) operate at the intersection of product engineering and customer impact.

As an FDE, you will be embedded within one of Cloudflare’s most strategic global customers, working side-by-side with their engineering teams to build and deploy solutions using Cloudflare’s platform. Unlike traditional Solutions Architects or consultants, you will write production code, shape technical architecture, and directly influence how Cloudflare products are used at massive scale.

You will operate as a technical extension of both organizations - helping the customer ship faster while surfacing real-world product insights back to Cloudflare engineering.

Responsibilities

This role is ideal for engineers who want to:

  • Stay deeply technical
  • Work on real production systems
  • Influence product direction
  • Build long-term partnerships with world-class engineering teams
  • Deep Technical Embedding: Serve as the dedicated, long-term technical partner within a strategic customer’s engineering organization, operating as a trusted extension of their team.
  • Production-Level Engineering: Design, build, and deploy production-ready code and configurations directly into customer infrastructure using the Cloudflare platform.
  • Technical Accountability: Own the account’s technical success across the entire Cloudflare portfolio. Serve as the primary technical point of contact, with other Cloudflare technical resources taking direction from your technical strategy for the account.
  • Operational Integration: Participate in customer engineering rituals, including daily standups, design reviews, and real-time incident response.
  • Platform Advocacy & Adoption: Identify opportunities to accelerate the adoption of Cloudflare services, unlocking new capabilities across the customer’s tech stack.
  • Platform Breadth & Depth: Deep technical competence in building production applications on a modern stack, combined with the willingness and ability to go deep on all Cloudflare product areas. From Workers to security, networking, and observability.
  • Feedback Loop & Product Influence: Surface real-world edge cases and product gaps directly to Cloudflare’s Product and Engineering teams to influence the developer platform roadmap.
  • Strategic Relationship Management: Establish and maintain trusted technical relationships with senior leadership (Staff+ engineers, Directors, and VPs).
  • On-Site Presence: Maintain a regular on-site presence at customer locations to foster deep collaboration and cultural alignment.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Proven Engineering Pedigree: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience. You are a builder at heart, with a track record of delivering production-grade systems, not just advising on them.
  • Languages: You are experienced with modern languages like TypeScript, Rust, Golang.
  • Production Ownership & Operational Maturity: You have owned mission-critical services with real-world users. You understand the gravity of on-call rotations, the urgency of incident response, and the architectural rigor required to maintain “five nines” uptime.
  • Active Practitioner: You are currently in the IDE. You have a “ship-first” mentality and maintain a high velocity, staying current with modern frameworks, languages, and deployment patterns.
  • Full-Stack Architectural Depth: Broad technical fluency across the entire stack—from frontend performance and backend logic to database optimization and distributed infrastructure.
  • AI-Native Development: You have integrated AI-augmented workflows (e.g., Windsurf, OpenCode) into your daily development cycle to accelerate prototyping and delivery.
  • Systems Design & Strategic Thinking: Ability to decompose complex business requirements into scalable, resilient technical architectures. You can visualize the “big picture” without losing sight of the implementation details.
  • Cloud Ecosystem Fluency: Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including an understanding of serverless, networking, and security primitives.
  • High Agency & Navigating Ambiguity: You are a self-starter who thrives in “zero-to-one” environments. You don’t wait for a ticket; you identify the problem and own the solution from end-to-end.
  • Executive Presence: Comfortable engaging in high-stakes technical and strategic discussions with VP-level stakeholders, with the ability to translate complex engineering trade-offs into business impact.

Bonus Points

  • Direct experience building on Cloudflare Workers, or the broader Cloudflare Developer Platform.
  • Previous experience at a fast-paced startup or in a customer-facing engineering role where you operated directly within a partner’s codebase.
  • A visible public profile, including open-source contributions, technical blogging, or speaking engagements at industry conferences.

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $194,000 - $266,000.

Equity

This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.

Censys has emerged as a leader in internet-scale attack surface management — and we’re scaling the sales org to match. This is your shot to own the New York Metro Territory at exactly the moment a Series D, category-defining security company needs its next great territory builder.

You’ll report to our Area VP of Sales (East) and sit alongside a sharp bench of Sales Engineers, Channel Managers, and SDRs who move fast and back each other up. You won’t just be closing deals in the largest, most competitive enterprise security market in the country — New York’s density of financial services, media, and Fortune 500 headquarters makes this one of the highest-leverage territories in the company. You’ll also help write the playbook other AEs use as we scale, working directly with sales leadership to shape process, not just execute it.

If you’re energized by category-leader momentum but still want the freedom (and occasional chaos) of building something from a still-early stage — territory strategy, deal structure, even parts of the sales motion aren’t fully fixed yet — this is built for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and grow the New York Metro territory for a company that’s just become the recognized leader in internet intelligence and attack surface management
  • Run and close large, complex deals with multiple C-level and VP stakeholders at the region’s top enterprise and cloud-native companies
  • Become a go-to expert on Censys’s security data and SaaS platform — the same data powering threat intelligence, security research, and defense at scale globally
  • Consistently beat activity, pipeline, and revenue targets each quarter
  • Build and maintain a strong, accurately forecasted pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Negotiate agreements that create real, mutual value — not just a signed contractDirectly influence and help build the sales playbook as we scale from category emergence to category dominance

What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years of software sales experience, including 5+ years in cybersecurity
  • Experience selling at early-stage or high-growth companies where you helped build the motion, not just run it
  • A consistent track record hitting or exceeding ~$1M quota
  • Command of complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles using solution-selling methodology
  • Comfort and skill running a fully virtual/remote sales process, including executive-level virtual presentations
  • Fluency in Salesforce
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites in-region as needed

Bonus Points:

  • Fluency in MEDDIC, Force Management, or Value Selling frameworks
  • Existing relationships or credibility within the PNW enterprise/cloud security buyer community

For high cost of living areas in the US (NYC), the expected on-target-earnings for this position is $314,000 USD - $340,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity.

Engineer Site Reliability Engineer at Ooma, Inc.

Site Reliability Engineer manages on-premises data center infrastructure, bare metal servers, VMs, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure system stability and performance.

Senior Onsite Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Here at Ooma we empower people to connect in smarter ways. We do this by creating powerful communication experiences through our cloud-based platform to bring people together at work and at home. Our solutions help small business owners stay connected with their customers and manage their businesses from anywhere. For larger companies we provide customized unified communications solutions to meet their unique needs. At home, we help our customers connect with their loved ones by providing the #1 rated VoIP phone service available. We also provide them with peace of mind through our innovative smart home security solution. At Ooma, all our products and services are priced competitively, because we believe advanced technology should be accessible to all.

About the Role:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Linux systems, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure the stability and efficiency of our systems, collaborating across teams to implement best practices for infrastructure management, automated deployment, and application performance monitoring.

Deep on-premises experience is a core requirement, not a secondary consideration. Our production environment runs on our own hardware — large data centers built on hundreds of bare metal servers and VMs, with our own storage, virtualization, and physical network beneath them. You will operate comfortably at the hardware and OS layer while also owning the container and delivery platform on top of it.

**Location and Onsite Requirement: This role requires onsite work at least once per week at one of our designated data centers in Dallas, TX, Ashburn, VA or San Jose, CA. Candidates must be able to commute regularly to one of these locations. Relocation assistance and reimbursement for routine commuting, travel, or overnight lodging are not available.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide expert guidance on managing large data centers, including hundreds of bare metal servers and virtual machines (VMs), ensuring optimal configuration and performance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, reliability, and availability using modern observability tools and techniques, with strong emphasis on diagnosing and resolving issues in operating systems and bare metal environments.
  • Manage the server hardware lifecycle — firmware and BIOS baselines, out-of-band management, failure triage, vendor and RMA coordination, capacity forecasting, and refresh planning.
  • Administer virtualization platforms and manage storage appliances across all data center locations worldwide.
  • Automate bare metal  and VM provisioning and OS lifecycle at scale.
  • Work hands-on with data center network infrastructure — VLANs, routing, link aggregation, load balancers, and firewall rules — troubleshooting latency, throughput, and packet loss from the Linux host outward, including multi-site and colocation resiliency.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure using containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture, including clusters on bare metal and on-premises VMs.
  • Oversee configuration management for consistent, reliable releases across environments, using Ansible for system configuration, patch management, and provisioning across data center infrastructure, and eliminating configuration drift across the fleet.
  • Design and operate high-throughput Kafka clusters for event streaming — topics, partitions, replication, consumer lag monitoring, and disaster recovery across data center infrastructure.
  • Implement name services and server management practices, including DNS, DHCP, NTP, directory and authentication services, and certificate management.
  • Collaborate with development teams to influence system design choices and operational policies, and continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies, hardware platforms, and automation approaches to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations supporting production systems, conduct blameless post-mortems with root cause analysis, and maintain incident response runbooks and procedures.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation — runbooks, architectural diagrams, network topology maps, rack elevations, and capacity models — and maintain knowledge bases for operational procedures and best practices.

Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience as an SRE or in a related field, with a strong focus on production systems, containers, microservices, and service delivery, required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Must have extensive on-premises data center experience managing large environments with hundreds of bare-metal servers and virtual machines. Experience with multi-site or colocation deployments, cross-site disaster recovery, and hybrid on-premises and cloud trade-offs is a plus.
  • Hands-on server hardware experience is essential, including firmware and BIOS management, out-of-band management, failure diagnosis, vendor coordination, and capacity and refresh planning.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems—including configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting—is expected.
  • A strong understanding of Linux networking concepts and protocols is necessary, along with familiarity with data center networking fundamentals such as VLANs, routing, load balancing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Demonstrated experience with containers and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes, is required, including running clusters on bare metal or on-premises virtual machines.
  • Must bring extensive experience managing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and the supporting technologies, including GitOps workflows, Argo CD, and Helm charts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, the ELK Stack, log collectors, and Grafana is key to success in this role.
  • Experience with configuration management tools—particularly Ansible—is important. Infrastructure as code applied to physical infrastructure using Terraform providers, MAAS, Foreman, or similar technologies, as well as scripting in Python, Bash, or Go, would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex systems, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions is critical. Experience operating Kafka or other high-throughput, stateful distributed systems on premises—including replication and disaster recovery—would be highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential, as is a willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support work in physical data center environments when needed.#LI-CC1

Operator Mission Engineer - Port St. Lucie, Florida at Axon Spain

Embedded engineer who builds and deploys AI agents, workflows, and automations on Axon's platform to solve customer operational challenges and drive mission outcomes.

Senior Onsite Posted 15 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

This isn’t a relationship management role. It’s an ownership role. Sharp. Adaptable. Unstoppable.

You won’t wait to be asked. You’ll identify what’s broken before it becomes a problem, build solutions that didn’t exist yesterday, and earn the kind of trust that makes you indispensable to the agency — and to Axon.

In this embedded role, you are the primary owner of customer outcomes within a strategic account — accountable for the full lifecycle of Axon’s ecosystem. You combine deep technical expertise, builder instinct, operational leadership, and executive presence to help agencies transform how they operate, not just adopt software. You embed for the long haul: opening the laptop onsite, shipping on Axon’s stack, holding the room when it matters, and iterating on what you build until it sticks in production.

Success is measured by the agency’s operational outcomes and working solutions in production — not product health, not activity, not slideware.

What You’ll Do

This role is intentionally undefined in the day-to-day. Priorities shift with agency mission tempo, operational crises, and emerging opportunities. If you need a fixed playbook to succeed, this isn’t the role for you.

Building is the job. You will use Axon’s platform — AI Era, agents, workflows, integrations, and data tools — to design, build, and ship new capabilities on site. You own outcomes end to end across deployment, adoption, optimization, and ongoing success — as the accountable owner, not a coordinator of other teams’ work.

Onsite Building & Platform Delivery

  • Discover agency problems onsite and translate them into buildable, compliant solutions tied to mission outcomes
  • Design and ship working tools on Axon’s platform: AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines — built and tested with real users and real data
  • Build with Axon products, not around them — configure, integrate, and extend DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, and related systems in the agency environment
  • Iterate in the field until adoption sticks, then document patterns for reuse across accounts
  • Apply responsible innovation guardrails — CJIS, evidence integrity, privacy — in every build. Ship working software, not slideware
  • Troubleshoot onsite and coordinate root-cause resolution across Product, Engineering, Support, and Services when builds or integrations break

AI Build & Adoption

  • Build and deploy AI-powered workflows (agents, prompts, RAG, evaluations) that solve defined agency problems — not generic experimentation
  • Drive hands-on adoption with the people who use what you build daily
  • Measure whether changes stick — usage, workflow impact, mission outcomes — and iterate when they don’t

Operational Transformation & Leadership

  • Assess workflows onsite, identify friction and mission impact, and define what to build before you build it
  • Move from reactive support to proactive outcome design — arrive with hypotheses, validate with command staff and operators, then build to match
  • Build trusted relationships with agency leadership and operational stakeholders; lead QBRs, mission reviews, and strategic planning
  • Define success metrics and capture baselines before major deployments so impact is proven, not assumed

Field Intelligence & Growth

  • Capture customer insights, workflow patterns, and adoption barriers; share field intelligence with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap decisions
  • Turn one-off builds into reusable playbooks and operational frameworks
  • Identify expansion opportunities based on demonstrated impact; partner with Sales on long-term account strategy

Onsite Engagement & Outcomes

  • Maintain consistent onsite presence (approximately 3-4 days/week), closely connected to agency operations and evolving needs
  • Track customer success metrics: time-to-first-production-use, adoption depth by role and site, workflow improvements, and mission outcomes
  • Support Sales → Post-Sales onboarding and handoff, establishing goals and accountability from day one

What You Bring

Required

  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles, program management, operational transformation, or complex deployment environments (typically 8+ years; varied experience welcome)
  • Former law enforcement or military experience preferred, not required
  • Proven builder: you have shipped working automations, agents, workflows, integrations, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments — configuring products, writing integration logic, and delivering production-ready solutions. Using AI to assist is expected; owning the build is required
  • Comfort working across technical and operational domains: hardware, software, cloud, AI-enabled technologies, and integrated systems
  • Strong communication with both technical teams and senior stakeholders, including command staff in mission-critical environments
  • Full ownership mentality in ambiguous, fast-changing environments; ability to navigate competing priorities across Product, Engineering, Sales, Support, and Services
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and adhere to security standards

Preferred

  • Experience in public safety, law enforcement, corrections, or other mission-critical operational environments
  • Familiarity with Records, Evidence, digital workflows, AI-enabled platforms, or integrated public safety ecosystems
  • Background in forward-deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or operational transformation at scale

Additional Information

We recognize that candidates may bring strengths from different backgrounds and experiences. If your experience aligns closely with this role, we encourage you to apply.

This role is for builders who earn trust in the room — not for those looking for a predictable schedule or narrowly defined responsibilities. Every week looks different. That’s the job.

Benefits that Benefit You

  • Competitive salary and 401(k) with employer match
  • Discretionary paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for all
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Fitness programs
  • Emotional and mental wellness support
  • Learning and development programs
  • And yes, we have snacks in our offices

Don’t meet every single requirement? That’s ok. At Axon, we Aim Far. We think big with a long-term view because we want to reinvent the world to be a safer, better place. We are also committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they check every box in the job description. If you’re excited about this role and our mission to Protect Life but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification listed here, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Some roles may also require legal eligibility to work in a firearms environment.

Data Analytics Head of Fund Analytics & Automation — Credit Fund at Xsolla

Designs and operates the credit fund's data and automation stack, combining SQL/Python engineering with portfolio analytics and underwriting decisions.

Senior Onsite Posted 19 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a Head of Fund Analytics & Automation who is a hands-on builder, rigorous with data, and fluent in finance conversations to join our Credit Fund team in the office of the Chief Credit Officer. The best candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and exceptionally dynamic setting and is excited to design, build, and operate the fund’s entire data and automation stack end to end — and then own it as the fund goes live.

The credit fund is being built with a deliberately small team. Instead of hiring several analysts and operations staff, we want one senior technical hire who can do both: engineer the platform and sit across the table from investors and borrowers. Underwriting here is built on real payment telemetry — including Xsolla transaction data — and that data edge is the foundation of this role.

Strong SQL, Python, and production automation skills are essential, along with real experience in portfolio analytics, market risk, or credit. The ability to ship audit-grade systems and then defend the numbers in front of LPs and borrowers will be key to your success in this role. The role starts as a builder and becomes the owner-operator of the platform, with a growing seat in underwriting decisions and, as the platform and deal volume grow, scope to hire and lead a small team.

If you’re passionate about applying AI-governed automation to private credit and love building the systems that let a lean team punch far above its weight, we would love to hear from you!

With more paths to profits and ways to win, developers have all the things needed to enjoy the game.

For more information, visit xsolla.com.

Responsibilities

First 6 months — priorities in order

- Deal pipeline live: origination intake through credit committee, with the full audit trail. - Scoring data layer: borrower financials and payment telemetry ingested, stored, and under documented data contracts. - LP / fundraising pipeline instrumented, and first investor reporting shipped.

Explicitly out of scope: legal documentation, fund administration, and accounting — these sit with external providers.

Phase 1: Build (through first close)

Deal pipeline management

- Design and run the full deal workflow: origination intake, screening, scoring, credit committee, closing.

- Implement it as governed automation (workflow orchestration such as n8n or similar, with LLM-assisted steps where they add value): every automated output validated against a defined schema, low-confidence results routed to human review, and a complete audit trail suitable for LP due diligence.

Scoring and underwriting data layer

- Build the ingestion and storage layer for borrower financials and payments telemetry (including Xsolla transaction data) — PostgreSQL or equivalent, ETL pipelines, materialized views, documented data contracts.

- Develop credit scoring and forecasting models in Python, with proper train/test discipline, leakage and PII exclusion, and ongoing monitoring for drift and degradation.

- Maintain evaluation and regression checks so model and automation quality is measured continuously, not assumed.

Fundraising / LP pipeline

- Build and operate the investor pipeline: CRM automation, conference and referral pipeline tracking, follow-up orchestration, and data room preparation and upkeep.

- Instrument the pipeline so we always know conversion rates, stage aging, and next actions per LP.

Investor and borrower dashboards

- Ship reporting for both audiences: fund-level metrics for investors, facility-level metrics for borrowers.

- Numbers must reconcile to source systems and be reproducible outside the BI tool — audit-grade, not demo-grade. Tableau / Power BI or a lightweight web dashboard, whichever fits.

Reliability, cost, and security of the stack

- Budget caps and cost monitoring on all AI-assisted automation; regression canaries before changes ship.

- Access control and data protection appropriate for fund data: deny-by-default permissions, audit logs, strict handling of LP identities, borrower financials, and deal terms.

- Documented runbooks and handover-ready documentation as part of “done” — the stack must be operable by someone other than its author.

Phase 2: Operate (post-close)

- Move into an operating role on the underwriting side: portfolio monitoring, covenant and collateral tracking, scenario and stress analysis.

- Extend the platform to other investment types and support the capital formation team with the same pipeline and reporting infrastructure.

Client and investor facing

This is not a back-office role. The person will join investor and borrower meetings, present the dashboards and the numbers behind them, and field diligence questions directly. Fluency in finance conversations is as important as engineering. The person will also respond to LP operational due diligence questionnaires on the data and automation stack.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

- 7+ years across data analytics / data engineering, including recent hands-on experience building and running production automation (not prototypes or notebooks).

- Proven production experience with LLM-based automation: schema-validated outputs, human review gates, evaluation and regression testing, cost-tiered model routing.

- Strong SQL and Python; ownership of a PostgreSQL (or similar) data platform end to end — ETL, materialized views, performance tuning, data contracts.

- Workflow orchestration experience (n8n, Airflow, or comparable).

- BI and dashboarding: Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or equivalent web dashboards; a track record of reporting that executives actually used for decisions.

- Security discipline for sensitive data: role-based access, deny-by-default policies, audit trails, PII handling.

- Finance background: degree in finance or quantitative field plus real experience in portfolio analytics, market risk, or credit — able to hold their own in an underwriting or investor conversation.

- Strong written and spoken English; comfortable presenting to senior external audiences.

Preferred

- Direct exposure to private credit, lending, or fund operations.

- Forecasting and statistical modeling track record (capacity planning, SLA/risk forecasting, or similar).

- Experience with embeddings / semantic search and multi-model AI setups.

- Web development ability (React / TypeScript or similar) for internal tools and dashboards.

- Experience in audited or regulated environments (SOC 2, fund audits, or equivalent).

Benefits

We are passionate about fostering a supportive environment for our team, so we prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our employees and their families through a comprehensive Benefits Program. This includes 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision plans, unlimited Flexible Time Off, and a personalized career roadmap for each employee. By investing in professional development through training and educational opportunities, we ensure that our team thrives both personally and professionally. Together, we’re not just building a business; we’re cultivating a community that values creativity, collaboration, and the transformative power of play.
