About the Role:
The Director of Software Engineering will report to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a leadership position responsible for managing individual contributors and other managers while also serving as a practitioner on client work. You play a crucial role in talent development, technical strategy, and cross-team collaboration while ensuring our teams deliver software solutions using modern technologies and best practices. As a technical expert, your primary work may not be hands-on-keyboard. You connect the dots between business, team, project, and technology needs. Weâre looking for a Head of Data Platforms to join Moonpig on a 15-month Fixed Term Contract.
Based in London with hybrid working (2 days per week in the office), youâll lead our Data Platform team through an exciting period of growth and strategic delivery.
This is a leadership role focused on our high performing team, delivery and operational excellence. Youâll lead engineering managers, ICs and teams, shape the Data Platform roadmap, oversee strategic technology partners and vendors, and ensure our platform continues to operate reliably at scale. While a technical background is important, this isnât a hands on architecture role.
Working as part of the Data Leadership Team, youâll partner closely with Engineering, Product, Commercial teams and strategic technology partners to deliver a scalable, reliable data platform that enables better decision-making across the business.
