Design Staff Product Designer at Instrumentl

Staff Product Designer owns end-to-end design for core platform systems, defining data models, interaction patterns, and design foundations that shape the entire product experience.

What this role involves

Hello, we’re Instrumentl. 👋

Nonprofits do some of the most important work in the world, and most of them are still managing grants in spreadsheets. We’re fixing that.

Instrumentl is a profitable, hypergrowth, YC-backed SaaS platform building the operating system for grant-funded organizations. More than 5,500 nonprofits use Instrumentl to discover, track, and win grant funding, from local community organizations to the San Diego Zoo and the University of Alaska. Collectively they’ve moved over $1 billion through our platform.

We’re growing quickly, customers love us (check out our G2 reviews!), and we’re hiring people who want to build something that matters.

About the role:

We are hiring a Staff Product Designer reporting to the Head of Design. You’ll own GrantOS, the foundational layer every other product area at Instrumentl sits on top of: Platform (the data layer, MCP, BI), Core (Tracker, Tasks, Reports, Integrations), and the enterprise surfaces that connect them. This is the seat where you define how grant professionals experience Instrumentl as a system rather than a set of features, which means the data models, permissions, and interaction patterns you set get inherited by every designer and every pod after you. Much of this area is still being invented, so you will be defining problems rather than receiving specs.

What you’ll do:

Platform & Systems

  • Own end-to-end design for GrantOS across Platform, Core, and enterprise, from discovery through ship and iteration
  • Define the data relationships, permission models, and integration surfaces that hold up across every workflow in the product
  • Set the interaction patterns and design system foundations that every other product area inherits
  • Design how work connects across pods, so a change in one area makes the next one smarter instead of harder

Zero to One

  • Drive definition in genuinely greenfield spaces where the right answer is not obvious yet
  • Write your own brief, frame the problem, and set roadmap direction in partnership with your PM
  • Make good calls with incomplete information and sequence the work so the team ships learnings quickly
  • Shape how grant professionals manage tasks, reporting, and integrations across the full grant lifecycle

Research & Influence

  • Recruit participants, run the interviews, and synthesize ambiguous user needs into clear product direction
  • Bring a point of view into the room and push back when something is not right for users
  • Align engineering, product, and GTM on direction at any level of the company
  • Raise the quality bar across the design team and coach the designers around you

What we’re looking for:

Required

  • 10+ years of product design experience with meaningful time at staff or principal level, having owned entire product domains rather than features inside them
  • Proven end-to-end ownership of a platform or core product area in complex B2B or enterprise SaaS: data models, permissions, integration surfaces, and patterns that other teams build on top of
  • Shipped net-new product work alongside that platform work, including 0-to-1 areas you helped define rather than received as a finished spec
  • Deep involvement in user research end to end, from planning and recruiting through synthesis into product decisions
  • Experience designing agentic or AI-powered product surfaces

Nice to have

  • Design systems experience where you defined the patterns, not only used them
  • Prototyping with AI tools, for example building working prototypes in Claude or Cursor that engineers can build from
  • Exposure to compliance, data integrity, or workflow-heavy domains
  • Startup experience where process was lightweight and you brought your own structure
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other designers
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit or social impact sector

Compensation & Benefits

For US-based candidates, the target salary range for this role is $200,000 – $230,000 USD, plus equity. Final compensation is determined based on experience, skillset, scope of responsibility, interview performance, and geographic location. We’re committed to paying competitively and equitably.

For candidates based in Canada, compensation varies by province and will be shared by your recruiter early in the process.

Benefits

  • 100% covered health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (50% for dependents)
  • Generous PTO, including parental leave
  • 401(k)
  • Company laptop and home-office stipend
  • Bi-annual company retreats

Instrumentl is evolving rapidly. You’ll always have new challenges and opportunities to grow here.

Instrumentl is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, or any other legally protected status. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. If you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, please let us know.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

Design B2spin: Digital Design Team Lead — Retention/CRM

Lead a team of digital designers producing retention marketing assets (emails, push notifications, in-app messages) across multiple gaming brands while building design systems, standards, and processes.

Lead Posted 2 days ago We Work Remotely — Programming
What this role involves

Headquarters: Bulgaria
URL: http://b2spin.com

We are B2Spin, and we are dedicated to delivering the best Free-to-Play Social Casino and gaming experiences by creating captivating, engaging, and unique products that are accessible to everyone. We have built a team of talented professionals from all over the globe, who are working to continually improve the experiences of our players. We are not looking to just be part of the industry, but to revolutionize it.

The Role

We run the creative function for retention at a multi-brand iGaming company. That means high-volume, high-frequency output — emails, push notifications, in-app messages, onsite banners — produced for segmented player audiences across multiple brands, all at the same time. This is a marketing creative leadership role, not a product or UX design role. You will lead a team of Digital Designers producing retention marketing assets across four brands and multiple CRM channels — not app or product interfaces.

The Design Team Lead owns the quality and consistency of that output. Not by reviewing everything personally, but by building the systems, standards, and team capability that make good work the default. This is as much an ops-and-systems role as it is a creative leadership role. If you're energized by turning "we eyeball it every time" into "we have a standard for that," this is the job.

What You Will Own

Brand systems that actually get used

Our brands are fragmented today. You'll build the documented visual systems — templates, component libraries, per-brand rules, practical "do this, not that" guidance — that designers reach for rather than work around. When the system is good, consistency stops being something we police and becomes the default.

Repeatable production at scale

Multiple designers producing work across four brands and CRM channels need modular templates, clear briefing standards, and clean versioning. You'll build and maintain those foundations. Just as importantly, you'll convert the feedback you keep repeating into checklists and onboarding material — so nobody gives the same note twice.

AI that produces on-brand results, not surprises

We already use AI heavily; the results aren't predictable enough. You'll put structure around it: per-brand prompt libraries, locked reference styles, clear review checkpoints, and training on how to take a raw AI output and finish it to a genuinely on-brand standard.

Quality that can be measured

You'll define what "on-brand and high quality" means for each brand, track simple signals like first-pass approval rate and rework volume, and catch delivery or quality risks before they hit send dates. You'll also keep improving how the team works — processes, tools, handovers — without waiting to be asked.

A team that feels clear and supported

Regular 1:1s, honest consistent feedback, and being the person designers come to when they're stuck. You'll monitor workload alongside the Traffic Manager, contribute to hiring, and make sure new designers land well and ramp fast.

What Success Looks Like

  • Our brands feel like systems, and the work looks consistent wherever it shows up.

  • Designers work to shared standards, so the same feedback isn't going round in circles.

  • Work ships with reliable quality and far less rework.

  • AI is a dependable part of how we create, not a gamble.

  • The team feels supported, knows what good looks like, and trusts their own judgement.

What We’re Looking For

  • A direct, easy communicator who does well in a fast-moving, remote team.

  • 5+ years of professional digital design experience, with a strong portfolio of digital work.

  • A track record of building systems, such as templates, brand guidelines, component libraries, or repeatable processes, not just strong one-off work.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting other designers; leadership is a big plus, not a must.

  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to give feedback that is clear, kind, and useful.

  • Hands-on experience taming AI creative tools, or a strong point of view on how you would.

Why you will love it

You'll thrive in our high-pace, high-growth environment where your curiosity directly shapes million-dollar decisions. Every insight you uncover translates into real business impact, while you build and lead a team that thinks strategically about the brands they own. You'll have the freedom to innovate your approach to analysis while working at the cutting edge of gaming analytics and machine learning.

Equal Opportunities Statement
We hire based on skills, drive, and ideas — nothing else. Your background, gender, age, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion, neurodiversity, or educational path will never be a barrier to joining us. We also welcome candidates from non-traditional career journeys and value diverse perspectives that challenge conventional thinking.
Diversity fuels our innovation, collaboration, and growth, and we're committed to creating an environment where everyone can contribute their best work and thrive.

Lead Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

The Design Systems team creates the visual and interaction foundations that help Vanta deliver coherent, accessible, and high-quality experiences across the product. This team partners across the EPD organization to build the systems, patterns, and practices that enable product teams to move faster while maintaining a high bar for craft and usability.

As a Staff Visual Product Designer focused on Design Systems at Vanta, you will shape the visual language of our product and the systems that bring it to life. You will define and evolve scalable patterns across our design and engineering ecosystems, partner closely with product designers and engineers, and help create a cohesive experience for customers navigating complex security and compliance workflows. You’ll combine exceptional visual craft with systems thinking, product judgment, and the ability to influence across teams.

What you’ll do as a Staff Visual Product Designer, Design Systems at Vanta:

  • Define and evolve Vanta’s visual design language across product surfaces, creating a cohesive, distinctive, and scalable customer experience.

  • Set a high bar for visual craft across typography, color, layout, iconography, illustration, motion, data visualization, and interaction details.

  • Partner with Design Systems, Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, and Brand teams to translate customer and business needs into effective system-level solutions.

  • Own and evolve foundational design system elements, including design tokens, component visual states, responsive behavior, theming, density, and platform-specific adaptations.

  • Create reusable patterns and guidance that help product teams solve common problems consistently while preserving flexibility for different customer workflows.

  • Design and prototype system components and end-to-end product experiences, using high-fidelity exploration to communicate intent and accelerate alignment.

  • Bring visual clarity and hierarchy to complex, data-rich workflows used by security, compliance, IT, legal, finance, and business stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are implemented with fidelity, accessibility, performance, and maintainability in mind.

  • Establish principles, standards, and review practices that raise the quality and consistency of product design across Vanta.

  • Advocate for inclusive and accessible visual design, ensuring that color, contrast, typography, motion, and interaction states work for a broad range of users and contexts.

  • Help define how the design system supports emerging product needs, including AI-powered experiences, personalization, automation, and increasingly complex enterprise workflows.

  • Use customer insights, product data, usability feedback, and competitive research to identify opportunities to improve the system and its impact.

  • Facilitate critiques, workshops, and cross-functional reviews that help teams make stronger visual and product decisions.

  • Influence product strategy and roadmap decisions through strong design perspectives, compelling narratives, prototypes, and a clear point of view.

  • Mentor product designers and contribute to a culture of thoughtful critique, continuous learning, experimentation, and customer obsession.

  • Create documentation, examples, and enablement materials that make the design system easy to understand, adopt, and extend.

  • Define and measure the impact of the design system through adoption, consistency, accessibility, usability, delivery efficiency, and customer outcomes.

  • Represent Design Systems in planning processes, product reviews, and other cross-functional forums, helping teams align around a shared vision for the Vanta experience.

  • Contribute to the broader Design organization by sharing best practices, strengthening design craft, and improving how Vanta approaches visual product quality.

How to be successful in this role:

  • 8+ years of experience designing digital products, with significant experience in visual product design for complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software.

  • Deep expertise in visual design for digital products, including typography, color, composition, layout, iconography, illustration, motion, interaction states, and data visualization.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, thoughtful systems thinking, and the ability to improve product experiences at both the component and end-to-end workflow level.

  • Experience creating, evolving, and scaling product design systems used by multiple teams across a growing organization.

  • Strong understanding of design tokens, component architecture, responsive design, accessibility, and the relationship between design tools and front-end implementation.

  • A track record of turning ambiguous product and customer problems into clear, elegant, and reusable visual solutions.

  • Experience partnering closely with engineers to bring detailed visual designs to life and to make pragmatic decisions when implementation constraints arise.

  • Strong product thinking, with the ability to understand customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, and the broader relationships among product surfaces and workflows.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence product and engineering partners without relying on formal authority.

  • Experience balancing consistency and flexibility, knowing when to use an existing pattern, when to extend it, and when to introduce something new.

  • A demonstrated ability to give and receive thoughtful feedback, mentor others, and raise the quality bar across a design organization.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and balancing strategic thinking with a bias for action.

  • Experience designing products in cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, IT, infrastructure, financial services, or another complex and regulated domain is a plus.

  • Experience with tools such as Figma and familiarity with front-end technologies or design system implementation workflows is a plus.

  • A strong commitment to Vanta’s principles: putting customers first, biasing for action, winning as one team, deciding with frameworks, leading with resilience, and doing what it says on the tin.

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.

  • Responsible for protecting Vanta and customer data in how you operate and deliver results.

Founded in 2013 by security and risk experts Dr. Alex Yampolskiy and Sam Kassoumeh and funded by world-class investors, SecurityScorecard’s patented rating technology is used by over 25,000 organizations for self-monitoring, third-party risk management, board reporting, and cyber insurance underwriting; making all organizations more resilient by allowing them to easily find and fix cybersecurity risks across their digital footprint.

Headquartered in New York City, our culture has been recognized by Inc Magazine as a “Best Workplace,” by Crain’s NY as a “Best Places to Work in NYC,” and as one of the 10 hottest SaaS startups in New York for two years in a row. Most recently, SecurityScorecard was named to Fast Company’s annual list of theWorld’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023 and to the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in 2023 award recognizing “forward-thinking employers for their unwavering commitment to employee engagement.”  SecurityScorecard is proud to be funded by world-class investors including Silver Lake Waterman, Moody’s, Sequoia Capital, GV and Riverwood Capital.

About the Role:

SecurityScorecard is looking for a stellar, empathetic, and results-oriented Senior UX Manager who leads people the way great designers craft products: with intention, empathy, and an uncompromising results orientation. This is a player-coach role for someone who has mastered the senior IC craft — end-to-end product design, design systems, accessibility-first execution, AI-native workflows — and is now ready to multiply that excellence through a team.

You’ll own team health, design velocity, and process — including running Agile scrum ceremonies that keep design planned, visible, and delivered on cadence with Product and Engineering. You’ll spearhead the operating system of the design organization: structured workflows, transparent tracking, a governed Design System, and a feedback culture where critique is direct, kind, and elevating in both directions.

We’re looking for someone human-led and empathy-driven who is also relentlessly accountable to outcomes — an excellent feedback giver and taker who brings their best self, meets people where they are, and moves the whole team in the same direction. You’ve done the work you’ll be managing. Now you’ll set the standard — and bring others up with you.

What You’ll Do

  • People Leadership & Team Health: Directly manage a team of designers at a healthy span of control. Conduct meaningful 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations. Lead with empathy, own team morale and retention with measurable targets, and cultivate a culture of transparency where every designer knows where they stand and where they’re headed.
  • Agile Design Process Leadership: Run and continuously improve Agile ceremonies for the design team — sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and design reviews. Integrate design seamlessly into scrum cycles alongside Product and Engineering, ensuring design work is planned, visible, estimated, and delivered on cadence — never a bottleneck, never a black box.
  • Hands-On Design Excellence: Stay close to the craft. You can own a feature end-to-end when needed — from discovery and wireframes through high-fidelity UI and production handoff — and you review, critique, and elevate the team’s output daily. Your feedback raises the bar; your example sets it.
  • Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the primary design liaison to Product Management, Engineering, and business stakeholders. Translate between design intent and business priorities fluently. Participate in roadmap planning, negotiate scope with clarity and directness, and build the cross-functional trust that makes design a strategic partner — not a service desk.
  • Research & Data Integration: Ensure the team synthesizes usability testing and behavioral analytics (FullStory, Pendo) into design iterations. Partner with UX Research to translate findings into personas, journey maps, and design decisions grounded in evidence — not opinion.
  • AI-Native Team Enablement: Champion AI-augmented design workflows across the team — Figma AI, Claude, and emerging tooling — to compress design cycles without sacrificing quality. Set adoption goals, share best practices, and model an AI-by-Design mindset.
  • Talent Development & Feedback Culture: Build professional growth plans for every direct report with clear markers for success. Give feedback that is direct, kind, and actionable — and receive it the same way. Stretch senior designers toward promotion and expanded scope, and make this team known as a place where great designers grow.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, including 3+ years directly managing designers — with a portfolio and track record demonstrating both craft excellence and team leadership.
  • Hands-on experience running Agile scrum ceremonies in some capacity — sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, backlog grooming — and integrating design into agile product development cycles.
  • Full command of the senior IC toolkit: end-to-end product design ownership from discovery and wireframing through high-fidelity UI and production handoff. You’ve done the job you’ll be managing — at a high level.
  • Deep proficiency in Figma, including component architecture, auto-layout, variables, and prototyping. You think in systems, not just screens — and you can teach others to do the same.
  • Hands-on experience building, governing, and scaling Design Systems that measurably accelerate design and engineering velocity.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and experience embedding inclusive design practices into team workflows.
  • Experience synthesizing behavioral analytics (FullStory, Pendo, Amplitude, or similar) and usability testing into design decisions — and coaching teams to do so.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills — you communicate design rationale persuasively to Product, Engineering, and executive audiences, and you negotiate priorities with clarity and directness.
  • Human-led and empathy-driven: you put people first, listen deeply, and build psychological safety — while staying relentlessly results-oriented and accountable to outcomes.
  • An excellent feedback giver and taker: you deliver critique that is direct, constructive, and inspiring — and you actively seek, welcome, and act on feedback about your own leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience accepted.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal Agile training certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent), OR robust experience serving as a scrum master or agile lead for a design and/or tech team.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or enterprise platform products with complex workflows and data-dense interfaces.
  • Track record of improving team health, morale, and retention metrics in design organizations — with measurable evidence.
  • Experience implementing JIRA-based or equivalent tracking systems for design teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-augmented design workflows and integrating AI tooling into team processes at scale.
  • Experience leading teams through organizational transformation, process change, or leadership transition.

Why Join Us

  • Lead and Still Create: This is a player-coach role. You’ll shape people, process, and culture — while staying close enough to the craft that your design instincts stay sharp.
  • Define the Operating System: You’re not inheriting a process — you’re building it. The agile design motion, the JIRA-for-Design mechanism, the feedback culture: yours to spearhead.
  • Direct Strategic Access: You report directly to the SVP, Experience Strategy & Product Design and serve as the operational partner translating strategy into daily execution.
  • A Team Built to Win: You’ll work alongside a UX Architect, UX Researcher, and senior designers — a deliberately constructed team where every role raises the others.
  • Values-Led Culture: We set the standard high, bring others up with us, lead with transparency and empathy, and stay direct. If you lead that way — this is your team.
  • World-Class Backing: SecurityScorecard is funded by Silver Lake Waterman, Moody’s, Sequoia Capital, GV, and Riverwood Capital, and recognized as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

Benefits:

Specific to each country, we offer a competitive salary, stock options, Health benefits, and unlimited PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursements, and much more!

The estimated total compensation range for this position is $185,000 - $230,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications and experience, and may vary from the range. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, content, sales, product, and leadership to understand business needs and translate them into effective creative.
  • Creative Operations: Build clear processes for briefs, feedback, approvals, prioritization, and delivery so the creative function can operate efficiently as demand grows.

What We’re Looking For

Above all: a strong creative leader who knows how to get great work out of a team. We’re looking for someone with exceptional visual judgment who can establish the creative direction, translate strategy into compelling concepts, and ensure the team consistently delivers at a high level.

  • Proven Experience: 6–8+ years of professional experience in brand, marketing, or visual design, including at least 2 years managing creative or design teams.
